teri + ken – destination wedding – the mills house hotel – charleston, sc

Teri & Ken’s ceremony and reception were both held at the Mills House Hotel in downtown Charleston. The ceremony was held outdoors on the rooftop terrace and the reception was held in one of the grand ballrooms. In speaking with Teri she told us that she was going for “Old Hollywood Glamour” for her wedding day look.  We think she did a beautiful job; from her hair, to the dress, to her flawless buttermilk skin.  The wedding was nothing less than elegant.  Here are some of our favorite images from the day:

The pretty earrings below are Teri’s something new,  gifted by her lovely bridesmaids.

There was no exit since they were staying at the Mills House for the night.  So they said their goodbyes and we walked them to their room.

Haylee’s Maternity Session – Birmingham, Alabama

This post is very special to me (Courtney) because it is about one of my best friends in the whole world, Haylee.  Haylee and I grew up together and have been friends since we were 8; that means we’ve been friends for over 21 years!!  OMG!!  We transitioned from riding big wheels to bikes to driving cars together.  We played community softball and sold raffle tickets together.  We went from being New Kids on the Block-obsessed to listening to Smashing Pumpkins and Mazzy Star together.  We rolled houses and made prank calls together.  Together we went from adolescent crushes to teenage boyfriends to getting married.

And now Haylee is on to the next chapter in her life: motherhood.  I’m not there with her just yet, but it won’t be long.  ;)   She and her husband, Jeff, whom I adore, have been together since they were teenagers and I couldn’t be more excited about their new baby girl.

Zahra and I drove to Haylee’s town (my old hometown) of Trussville, AL and shot this maternity session for Haylee and Jeff.  I am so happy to have been able to document this special time in their lives.  Haylee, I love you so very dearly and I can’t wait to come back and see your precious baby girl!

Check out some pics of me and Haylee together when we were little girls:

Here is a picture of us counting red receipts for a school fundraising program.  3rd grade.

Here are a couple of pictures of us right before the N.K.O.T.B. concert.  Ooooh yeahhhh.  The other girl in this picture is Jennifer, my other childhood friend.  Jennifer is pregnant with her second child now, so be on the lookout for a blog post about her maternity session really soon.

Ashley + Chris – Orlando, FL – Destination Wedding

We were lucky enough to fly down to Orlando to shoot Ashley and Chris’ fun Disney wedding at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.  Ashley told us that Disney was a big part of her family and that she and her older brother had been there,  “OH…AT LEAST 100 TIMES!”  Ashley and Chris were originally planning to have their wedding at the Duncan Estate in Spartanburg, SC but opted to have it at Disney for the sentimental value.  Ashley is  so bubbly and beautiful with her great blue eyes and rich red hair, Chris has his own little mermaid. :)   We think she made the perfect decision to have a Disney wedding, it suited her well. The ceremony was held in the Boardwalk Pavilion overlooking the water;  the pavilion was a pretty canary yellow and surrounded by manicured lawns and flowers.  The reception was held at Ariel’s on the Beach Club, we loved this reception space,  it was under the sea themed…check it out.

anna + corey- vines botanical gardens – loganville, ga

This post is very special to us. We met Anna & Corey while we were  still in school and they were our first consultation!!! Back then, there was no  Project Duo. We were just Courtney and Zahra.   I actually had a panic attack in the beginning of our meeting!!! (Zahra)  BUT,  we loosened up as soon as Anna and Corey began talking, they were so warm and inviting and it has been an absolute TREAT to work with them twice. (we shot their engagement and wedding)

We met up with Anna and Corey at the Vines Botanical Gardens in Loganville, Ga.  It’s a great location, very secluded and private,  which made it very easy for Anna and Corey to let their  guards down and allow us to capture the essence of their personalities. We all CLICKED immediately and it felt as if we had known them for years.  Check out some of our favorites from their session and I bet you won’t be able to not smile. :)

getting back to business

FYI, the hustle and bustle of summer is simmering  down and Courtney is officially happily married.  So… in the upcoming weeks  we are going to bring you up to speed and share what we have been doing all year. :)

And for a little eye candy,  check out this beautiful Hawaii sunrise Courtney took on top of the Haleakala Crater while on her honeymoon.

THE PHOTO BOOTH!!

This past weekend we shot Amy & Daniel’s wedding in Greenville, SC.  I’m sure you can tell that we had a ball!! We were so jealous of the wedding guests cutting up in the photo booth so we grabbed Amy & Daniel  for a quick photo-booth-shoot. :)

Check us out!

STUDIO WED!

We have some great news to share!! This past May,  Michelle Gainey of Lemiga Events invited us to be apart of her Midtown wedding planning boutique Studio Wed.

SWButtonWhite

From the site:

Studio Wed is an exclusive collection of Atlanta’s wedding vendors representing the finest wedding professionals that service the Atlanta area. This is a hip and revolutionary concept in local and destination weddings in Atlanta: a stylish and sophisticated planning studio where the area’s best vendors come to you. Meet with a photographer over coffee in the morning and enjoy a glass of wine as you chat with a florist in the afternoon. Best of all, there’s no cost to you to use StudioWed’s services, so you can feel free to spend an entire day — or as many as you need — planning your big day.
We are so excited to be apart of Studio Wed! Not only do we love the concept;  but we love all of the Studio Wed vendors, we’re like a big happy family.

So now that we’ve introduced you to Studio Wed we would like to invite all of our brides to be to our Inspired Bride Event.

courtney + eric – atlanta, ga – centennial park

We met with Courtney & Eric in January and they contracted us to shoot their engagement and wedding. We will be shooting their beautiful wedding at Glendalough Manor in October.  It was so easy shooting Courtney & Eric; we love their attention to detail,  and the color and style of their outfits were like  eye candy for us!

Just in case we haven’t said it before, we really love shooting engagement sessions for our wedding clients.  It really helps to loosen everyone up and get used to being in front of our cameras,  by the wedding day you’ll all be naturals.

Courtney and Eric were both born and raised in Georgia,  so it was  only natural for them to have their session in the heart of Atlanta. We love you Courtney & Eric and we can’t wait to see you again in a few months. We’ll be crying behind our cameras at the ceremony! (seriously…lol)

elise + james – savannah, ga – destination wedding

When Elise contacted us to book us for her Savannah wedding she made it loud and clear that she was WAYYY interested in portraits.  That was WAYYY up our alley. Elise and James made our jobs so easy. Elise is super sweet and James is so laid back, we all had really GREAT chemistry.  Zahra and Elise were even born on the same day and year! How crazy is that?!

So first off,  we met James at The Marshall House to shoot is getting ready. Elise warned us that he was shy, but he was SOOOO a natural.
